Ontario Historical Air Photos

Re: Changes to Black and White Aerial Photo Services

Forest Resources Inventory (FRI) black and white aerial photo collection
has been transferred to the Archives of Ontario. Please note that this
change applies only to black and white products. Sales of colour
infrared aerial products will continue to be available from the Natural
Resources Information Centre (NRIC).

While the Ministry has determined that distribution of the black and
white photos is no longer part of its core business, the collection is
an important historical asset. By transferring it to the Archives, we
are ensuring that it remains available to the public as an archival
record.

Effective June 15, 2009, the Archives will provide access to the photos
and will accept orders for prints on a self-service basis, either in
person at the new Archives of Ontario Building at 134 Ian Macdonald
Boulevard, Toronto (York University campus) or electronically via e-mail
at reference@ontario.ca. For further information about the Archives of
Ontario's services, please consult their web site or contact them by
phone 1-800-668-9933 (Ontario only) or (416) 327-1600.
